Ever dream of being a commercial pilot?

If you have, now is probably the best time to take that dream seriously. There is a shortage of pilots now and the shortage will increase dramatically in the coming years.

According to an article in AOPA Pilot magazine’s July 2018 issue, “Boeing estimates that more than 600,000 new professional pilots will be needed worldwide over the next 20 years…”

The cost of becoming a commercial pilot is in the neighborhood of $75,000. That is a relatively inexpensive price tag for a career when you consider some schools will charge that for a single year of college. And between 2014 and 2016, according to the same article, there was a 150% average increase in total compensation among regional airlines.

Name another job that sets up with a shortage of employees, rising compensation and a relatively inexpensive cost of attainment? And we haven’t mentioned the job is one in which you get to fly a plane, see the world and do something you love!
