Credit Union dedicates resources to the communities it serves
MARGATE, FL (July 1, 2017) one of the driving principles behind the credit union We Florida Financial has been the establishment of close ties with the communities it serves.
This principle is more than a slogan. In 2017, as in previous years, We Florida Financial has continued to allocate time and money to a wide cross-section of events and causes across South Florida.
This year, We Florida Financial participated in team marches like the Dan Marino Autism Foundation Walk in January and the Fort Lauderdale Walk for the Animals in March. Located in one of the country’s most multi-cultural areas, the credit union strives to support a variety of social and ethnic groups and causes. We Florida Financial was a prime participant in February’s Pride Fort Lauderdale and June’s Stonewall Festival, supporting the area’s gay community. For years, the Caribbean community has also counted on credit union backing and this year, We Florida Financial has participated in several Caribbean-American fairs and festivals including Lauderhill’s Jammin’ in the Park in April, and Unifest and North Miami’s Taste of Haiti in May.
This philosophy of participation is proudly stated by President and CEO Lloyd Gill when he says, “A financial institution’s true value should be measured not only in dollars and cents but also in the level at which we engage with our members and our social environment.”
